    3:43: dealer changes from confirming it's been on lot a while to "the oldest" car on the lot while the page in front of you has a same model right there with 49 days more time and an extra hybrid option for upsell reach. If you don't miss this, the last words he should hear from you are "Sorry, I'm going to try to find someone who doesn't smile while they lie to my face, you either lied about knowing it's the oldest or you lied about it being the oldest." Now I'm not stupid enough to think dealers are going to be totally honest about everything, but to know I'm checking fact X and at the same time put the lie about fact X in such a high pressure line cuts your credibility about three layers lower than I can deal with.

    Ugh - again you guys are wrong. Reserves may or may not be charged back, but really depends on how the dealership has the contract set up with the bank. Here’s the bottom line - if the dealership can’t make the amount of money that they wanna make on the car THAN they aren’t going to sell you the car. End of story!

    I used to always sign up for Galves and bring that with me and always got what it said for trade in. Then I would aim to only pay $3k over galves for the car I am buying from them. (if it was used).

    My '15 Crosstrek XV has been involved in 3 accidents. The 1st minor, #2 was just the front bumper but #3 was borderline totalled. Coupled with a few age related issues, it has 55, 000 mi and fantastic gas mi. I'd sell but the thought of dealing with another car salesman gives me high blood pressure.

WHATS IMPORTANT ARE THREE WORDS… OTD OUT THE DOOR PRICE… NO TAXES , FEES, CHARGES, ETC… KNOW WHAT THE CAR YOU ARE BUYING IS BEING SOLD FOR… AND STICK TO YOUR PRICE… THIS TAKES AT LEAST A MONTH OF LOOKING. ALWAYS WALK OUT OF A DEAL, UNLESS THEY MATCHED YOUR PRICE… OTD… WALKING OUT IS A KISS OF DEATH… A FAVORITE, IS RIP UP THE CHECK…. ITS FUN TO SEE THE EMOTION ON THEIR FACE… ALWAYS HAPPENS…

    Sold a low mileage 2016 F-150 (V8 w/ 33000) last year for 30k. Buyer/Seller happy. I bought the vehicle four years previous for 30k. So I pretty much drove it for 4 years and sold it for the same price I bought it. Maybe I should have charged 40k. I know that I'll never pay North of 60k for a similar truck nor will I find a 3-4 year old truck on a dealer lot with 3k miles on it for that price ever again. LOL.

    I take a day or so every few months just to fuck with the scumbags knowing im not the least bit interested and wasteing their time. Go for the day, lunch and a few beers...lots.of fun especially when they call and you tell them you already bought elsewhere.

    this is my biggest issue with dealers after buying 40 cars in 20 years. I always came up with a number in my head and thats what they needed to hit or else I wasnt trading my car. The price of their car was always independent from the trade value, so there was no money moving between the 2 to over or under inflate the values. I went in stubbornly at a dealer requesting a price. The dealer seemed shocked and asked how I came to it and I said through my research from KBB and such. He then showed me the dealer auction values that were 4k less than my number. He asked if id buy the same car from another dealer for 4k more? I said of course not. He then offered slightly more than the auction value cause the car was there and there were no auction or transport fees. That transparency was eye opening. from then on, whenever i traded a car, id do a combo of KBB instant cash offers, posting on forums to find out auction value for the car, carvana and carmax quotes. Whatever the auction value was, id add 1k. In 20 cars since then, ive never missed my target of 1k over my researched assumed auction value. one knock on this video you guys dont touch on. you say the average recon on a car is 1 or 2k. if they paid 40k from auctiion for that truck, they would still be in it for 41-42k after recon. Giving the imaginary guy 35k was still ripping him off. How much fees and transport go into dealer auctions?

    The mark up is insanely high, in Oz a new toyota corolla cross discounted by $6000 oz dollar for toyota staff member , and they still make profit. A general public would mostly get up to $2000 discount if they got lucky. So, lesson is always aks for a big discount or walk away and dont Forget to write up your experience in google review or any review website to inform others and put pressure on these mafias.

    We made the mistake of buying a 2015 Ford Fusion SE and man that was a huge mistake Ford builds them to look good, but cheap materials. Car had a cracked cylinder head by the time it reached 22k miles. I had been a Ford loyalist in the late 80's and early 90's got a couple lemons and stopped buying them. In 2015 we just wanted to see if they had gotten better and found out quickly they had not. Even after repair under warranty it still broke down and by 55k miles it was misfiring again so I was sick of messing with it and traded it for a Toyota Camry for my wife. What a HUGE difference the Camry has been quality wise she remembered how good her 1997 Camry was and then the 2020 so far has been just as reliable. I told the dealer we traded the car in at it had misfires they took it anyway since they owned a Ford dealer. I called later on asking what the problem was and they just said it was in the shop being repaired, I bet you it was sent to an Auction. Only Ford I will ever own again is an old classic, no way I will give that company my hard earned money no sir! GM is just as bad. I will take my chances with Toyota going forward they all can break down, but Toyota gives me the best odds of a win and great resale and trade in values down the line.

    Get commitment from dealer out the door price… smart advice. New vehicles lose around 60% of value after 3 years. A new vehicle never an investment probably the worst depreciating assets out there…Old joke how do you turn 100k into 40k buy a 100k new vehicle and wait three years.

    I searched for a basic truck at my local dealers. They don't stock them! So I drove 500 miles to the commercial fleet dealer in Omaha to order a basic F-350 fleet truck that fit my application. The local dealers are only wanting to force you into a Lariat or Platinum with a diesel. I didn't need that. What I got is more than I need.

    Its all a ripoff what people are being charged! I saw a Ford Bronco at my local dealership post a price of 109000 dollars for that vehicle! It was on their "used car" side of the lot. When they realized they couldnt sell it there, they moved it to the "new car" area hoping to find a fool who will fall for that price! It is still there and not going anywhere. This dealership has always been deceitful and a ripoff. I wouldnt even buy a spare tire from them!

    I was told by a dealer salesman that DOC fees were sold as documentation fees but that DOC really meant, "Dealership Owner's Commission" and represented the dealership owner's cut of the sale, above any other baked in dollars that were part of the final negotiated price. A guaranteed amount of money for the dealership owner.

    I got a grant for $10k to use on a car (used, new or lease) by June 1st. Single mom with charger access where I live. What’s a good option. The Nissan leaf is an amazing deal but the range is too short and I am not in love with the interior, but it’s the deal I’ve been looking for. Lol

    I do not even get into this back and fotrh nonsense. I go to Carmax cause they pay the most and higher than the BS Kelly Blue Book which is supported by dealers. CarMax is the only local place where you can actually walk out with a 7 day written offer. If the dealer is off by smaller percentage, then I know they at least are trying to get somewhere. If the dealer pulls one of these $10K below, I walk. That is it. Not there to play games.

    Most of these dealerships won’t even answer emails or texts…. They all want us to come in… I’ve had 2 or 3 that wanted to work with me through text and the rest wanted me to come in…. Like cmon man first off I live 2/3 hours away so I can’t make time and 2nd if I wanna make a deal I wanna make the trip worth it!! Some dealerships are just horrible but il be looking to take these templates!

    It’s not just the sticker prices either. I bought my current GM truck before the prices went crazy but the well documented valvetrain problems and transmission problems that each cost thousands to fix plus the cost of a rental car for weeks means I may have bought my last gm vehicle already at any price. And when this one is gone it won’t be a Ford or Ram in my driveway to replace it either.

    Nonsense. It’s very simple. Go to a dealership and ask for a pencil on the car you want. Go to a bank or credit union and get a loan for the car. Show up at the dealership with a cashiers check from them and buy the car. Simple, easy and you avoid all this nonsense.
